Pierre-Robert Amoreau, Adrien’s great-grandfather and a keen botanist, worked alongside his father-in-law, Armand, to design the first mechanical device which would work only the surface of the soil. This new tool was more respectful of the soil ecosystem and aired the ground without intensive ploughing.
